Congratulations to Gibraltar for becoming the EEF’s 45th member! Gibraltar will remain an observer member until the federation’s next general meeting in December when a vote on full membership will be placed.
Gibraltar has made tremendous progress in esports over the last year. Notably, in January 2023, the region formally recognized esports as a sport. This prompted the Gibraltar Esports & Video Gaming Association (officially known as Epsorts Gibraltar) to change its designation from a Leisure Association to a Sports Association.
Gibraltar previously competed in the 2022 Commonwealth Esports Championships and the 2022 Global Esports Games in Istanbul.
